WHAT YOU WILL DO:
It has been said that points are cheap, so give kids a lot of them during game time. Wouldn't it be great if the kids could do something with the points once they've earned them? In this game, the kids get to use the points they earn to help fund imaginary missionaries. Divide the children into two teams. Have a list of 14 review questions ready. The review questions with a lesser point value should be easier. As the questions get progressively harder, the point value goes up. The point values of your questions should correspond to the following list. Make a list on the board that resembles the following:
Bicycle to get from town to town. Food to eat and water to drink. Shelter in which to live. Missionary Training. Bibles to hand out. Plane fare to mission field Build a new church. |
100 points 300 points 500 points 500 points 700 points 900 points 2000 points |
Team A ___ Team A ___ Team A ___ Team A ___ Team A ___ Team A ___ Team A ___ |
Team B ___ Team B ___ Team B ___ Team B ___ Team B ___ Team B ___ Team B ___ |
As each team gets points, place a check mark next to the appropriate point value on the board.
WHAT YOU WILL SAY:
All of you have been doing a wonderful job and have been working very hard. We're going to play a review game now to see how much you remember. When your team answers a review question correctly, you will get points. Each team will use these points to buy things for their missionary. Missionaries need many things to be successful. They need food and water, shelter/housing, training, Bibles, and plane fare to get to the far away countries. It might also be helpful for a missionary to have a bicycle to travel from town to town. It would be wonderful if you had enough points to help them build a new church. The team that helps their missionary the most wins. Kids may pick the country in which their missionary is located.
