Using Bulletin Boards
Bulletin Boards are a great way to add excitement to your classroom and reinforce the lesson or lesson series at the same time. Special messages shown on bulletin boards will stick with the kids because they will see it over several weeks. Pick a bulletin board idea that will encompass all the lessons in your series.
Bulletin Board Index:
The Bulletin Board Index is arranged alphabetically by title, with a brief description next to each one. To view the actual content, simply click on the Title. An illustration of how the bulletin board should look is displayed on each page along with brief instructions on how to put the display together. Templates and other items needed to create the display can be found in the materials list below the illustration.
Templates:
Where necessary, we provide templates to help you create pictures, shapes, and lettering for the display. You will also find a link to templates for standard size lettering at the tope of the bulletin board index page. Templates are designed to fit on standard 8 1/2 x 11 paper. Depending on the size of your bulletin board, you may need to resize the template before using.
Letters:
The size of your letters depend on the overall size of your bulletin board. You want to select a letter size so that the printed phrase will apear spaced the same as on the sample illustration. With the standard letter templates you can create 2 inch, 2 1/2 inch, 3 inch, 4 inch, and 5 inch lettes. You can print the appropriate template(s) on colored paper, and cut out each letter needed, or create a stencil by printing the pages on heavy card stock and cutting out each letter.
