ADDITIONAL SERIES RESOURCES:

Holy Trinity (Bulletin Board)

Lesson 1 - Who is God?

After completing this lesson, the children will have a better understanding of the three persons of God—the Trinity—and more specifically, the loving qualities of God the Father. Memory Work - Psalm 115:5; Scripture Reading and Discussion - Various Old Testament verses.

Application: God is like our parents in many ways. He loves us, He protects us, He comforts us and He provides for us. God is worthy of our praise because He is holy. God is also like our parents in that he disciplines us when we do wrong. Like little children, we have the tendency to disobey, and when we do it is a sin. This sin makes us unholy in the presence of God. Our sin keeps us apart from God. But God is also merciful. He wants us to be with Him, so he provided a way for us to be with Him.

Lesson 2 - Who is Jesus?

After completing this lesson, the children will have a better understanding of the three persons of God, the Trinity, and specifically the second person of God, Jesus. Memory Work - 1 John 4:14; Scripture Reading and Discussion - Various New Testament Verses.

Application: By sending Jesus, God was able to walk with us, talk with us, and share in our lives like an ordinary man. But of course Jesus is no ordinary man. He is God. He was there from the very beginning, even before the earth was formed. Then He became flesh in order to live with us. God loves us so much, and wants us to be with Him forever. But our sin keeps us apart from Him. So, God paid the ultimate price just for us. He came to earth as Jesus, who was without sin because God has no sin. As a sacrificial lamb bearing all of our sins, Jesus died for us. Because of Jesus, the Son of God, our Lord and Savior, we can know God!

Lesson 3 - Who is the Holy Spirit?

After completing this lesson, the children will have a better understanding of the three persons of God, the Trinity, and specifically the third person of God, the Holy Spirit (or the Holy Ghost). Memory Work - John 14:26; Scripture Reading and Discussion - Various Old and New Testament Verses.

Application: So the Holy Trinity is God the Father, Jesus the Son and the Holy Spirit. God is the creator of all things, even man. Jesus Christ, is the same God, who came down to earth in the flesh. The Holy Spirit is the third person of God, who is our counselor and guide to help us know the truth and to remember Jesus as our savior.
