ADDITIONAL SERIES RESOURCES:

Army of One (Bulletin Board)

Lesson 1 - Who is the One?

In this lesson, children learn that they serve the one true God, and He is three in one--God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. They also learn about their role as members of God's Mighty Army. Memory Work - 1 John 5:7; Scripture Reading and Discussion - 1 Samuel 17:32-50.

Application: Our God is a mighty and loving God. Hannah said it best when she prayed to God, saying, "There is none holy as the Lord: for there is none beside thee: neither is there any rock like our God." 1 Samuel 2:2 KJV. Our God is not against us, He is for us. With any battle, I would want to make sure God is on my side and I am fighting only for Him and not for others or myself.

Lesson 2 - How Do We Serve the One?

This lesson, will teach children how to serve the one true God by worshipping Him only. This lesson also explains that knowing His Word helps us resist temptation. Memory Work - Matthew 4:10b; Scripture Reading and Discussion - Matthew 4:1-11.

Application: Jesus taught us that the key to resisting temptation is to know God's Word. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

Lesson 3 - How Do We Fight for the One?

In this lesson, children learn that we fight in a spiritual war when it comes to sharing the Word of God. We can prepare for this battle through prayer and fasting. Memory Work - James 2:19, Scripture Reading and Discussion - Acts 13:1-12.

Application: The spiritual battle that we are in can be difficult, but we are called to persevere.
